"Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not go unpunished, but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered" Proverbs 11:21
Are we truly listening to our children when they tell us a 'teacher' is treating them unfairly? Although we are more inclined to believe adults over children, our children still have a voice. We should take each complaint about a teacher being unfair, embarrassing, and/or being verbally or physically abusive to a child seriously. It should also move us to action.
Many times, our children will share with us what is happening to another child in school at the unfair hand of a teacher. Of course we ask, "do they treat you this way?" When we hear "no", we tend to ignore the problem and label it as another person's problem. It may take another parent, sibling or a person in the community to bring attention to a serious problem. You maybe the one who makes the difference.
Watch what is taking place in a special needs classroom. I hope that it moves all of us to be more attentive, not only to our child but the children of others.

GOD HAS THE ANSWER:
Our children are being attacked and tormented by, what the world calls 'bullies'. Do not fear for your children because God has said in Proverbs 11:21, "Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not go unpunished, but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered". We have power as Christians through the power of God's Word. Here are some suggestions I would like to offer:
1. Pray over your children:
In prayer, plead the Blood of Jesus over your children everyday. Jesus died for a reason and His Blood has power. When we plead the Blood of Jesus over anything, it is protected from the evil one.
2. Talk to your children:
Find out what is happening in their lives. Are they under attack or are they causing harm to others.
3. Encourage your children to pray.
4. Speak the Word of God over their lives:
God has given us authority as parents. His Word has power. Before your children go out, bless them. Remind them of who they are and who God is.
5. Don't allow your children to fight in your home:
As parents, we set the tone for our home. Try to create a place of safety for your children; a place they know is safe when the rest of the world is cruel.
6. Affirm your children:
The same power God used to create the universe is the same power He has given to us. We will have exactly what we say. Tell your children and encourage them to say things like,
* "I am smart".
* "I am accepted by God".
* "I have favor with God".
Stay away from words like, "You are so stupid"; "You are worthless" ; "You're never going to be good enough"; "There is something wrong with you".
If you have used these words, REPENT! Ask God to forgive you and go to your children and ask them to forgive you.
7. Stand up!
If there is a problem, face it head on. God is with you and will fight for you.
